2022 Youth World Championships
In August 2022, we traveled to Dallas Texas for Katya’s first ever international climbing competition!
23 countries were represented at this 9 day-event. Katya first competed bouldering followed a few days later by lead climbing.
Boulder One
Boulder one at World Championships was a “slabby/crimpy” climb totally Katya’s style!
Katya was one of only 8 girls in her age group to “flash” (get to the top on the first try) this boulder. Sweet!! You can see Katya sporting her new pink hairstyle for the occasion. Katya’s favorite climbing photo of all time is the photo on the top right below. The lightness and ease of the pose against how hard it was to get to that point in the climb at a world championships!
